Motors need to be able to carry current through their windings in the order intended. Motor insulation resistance tests confirm the health of the insulation between the motor’s windings and frame and between different phase windings.
Because the results of motor insulation resistance tests vary greatly based on the temperature of the motor at the time the test is performed, Motors@Work uses Polarity Index, or the insulation resistance at ten minutes divided by the insulation resistance one minute into the test. Please enter this ratio into the field.
